I can't believe that it is Christmas already! I hope that you are all having a great day! I'm up in Utah this year with my family. We woke up to a white Chritstmas this morning. It was beautiful but the snow melted pretty quickly. Here are some pictures of the present opening frenzy that took place.

Pretty Princess
Alyssa was a medieval princess this year for Halloween. She got a lot of great use out of her costume, over a couple weeks she went to at least 5 Halloween parties. Must be nice to have such a busy social schedule. ;o) These pictures are from one of the parties I took her to, she even let me curl hair. I think we were both happy with the way it turned out. I sure wish I had her hair. ;o)
Enjoy the pics of my sister, the princess...as if there was any doubt.

Weekend in Arizona
The weekend of my birthday this year fell on weekend where everyone else had to be out of town. My dad was in Alabama, Doug & Kregg were in Utah, and Alyssa was at Girl Scout Camp. So I decided that my only option was to go out of town too. :o) I decided to go visit my friend Jenny.
If you've never driven from California to Arizona, I must tell you, that you aren't missing much. The only things between here and Arizona, are windmills, cactus, desert, and weird electrical towers that look like cows. I attached some pictures in case you really felt like you were missing something.
The prettiest thing on the drive up there was the sunset.
We built a table and chairs. It turned out pretty nice, if I do say so myself. ;o)
We also built a fire in her very own fireplace. I must say that I'm very jealous that she has a fireplace in her apartment! How come we don't have stuff like that in California?
It was a fantastic weekend. I'm so glad that I was able to go out and visit. But when I got up to go home on Sunday, I remembered why I was glad that I live in California...it was only 12 degrees outside. Sooooo COLD!!! I guess that's why she needs a fireplace. ;o)
Thanks for letting me visit Jen! We'll have to do it again soon!

While I was only able to stay for a couple of days, Jen & I were able to do a lot. We went to my favorite bookstore, Bookmans. It's a huge used bookstore, where you can turn in your old books for store credit to get more books. It's honestly a vicious cycle but so much fun. Everytime I go to Arizona, I end up taking a box of books with me to trade in. Can't wait to do it again. ;o) We also managed to get some stuff set up at Jen's apartment.
We set up the bed in her guest bedroom.

Marathon Weekend w/ the Fam
Run Dad Run
My Dad and Brett ran the St. George marathon again this year, so Alyssa and I headed up to Utah to watch and visit with everyone. It was a great weekend. The day of the marathon it rained and I mean poured, not just a light sprinkle. They both finished despite that. Chances of me ever running a marathon are slim anyway, but I know that if was raining I would find something else to do that day. Running 26.2 miles in wet shoes just isn't my idea of fun. But we still came out to support the guys. We met them out on the course to say hello, we got a little sense of how the boys felt while we hiked up the trail to meet them. It was really wet but at least we had umbrellas. :o)
Do you see the yellow dot coming down the trail?

New Apartment
Heather's Shower & Wedding
I know that I've been a very bad blogger lately. Life's been busy lately but, honestly, when is it not? I'm going to try and catch up, by blogging about some of the fun things that have been going on, like, my friend Heather's bridal shower and wedding in September.
The bridal shower was at Heather's house and a lot of fun. We all got to sit around and chat, watch Heather open her gifts, and, of course, we had to play obligatory shower games. One of the games we played, involved splitting into groups and designing wedding dresses out of toilet paper. My group had little Lexie as the model. Doesn't she look adorable?
The wedding was lovely. There were some minor small problems on the day of the wedding, like a rude photographer and really uncomfortable shoes for the poor bridesmaids...really painful shoes! :o( But at the end of the day Mike and Heather were married and now they have the rest of their lives to spend together. They truly are an adorble couple and I couldn't be happier for them! Congrats!

The beautiful bride to be.
